Core value of the month: Respect

PRINCIPAL’S MESSAGE

Dear ML Parents,

Welcome back. It’s been an amazing start to the school year. No doubt you’ve noticed the changes on campus from our roofing upgrades and new configurations in the office. We love our new look! There may be a few small remaining items for the contractors to finish up such as signage, but the major work is completed.

Thank you for your continued partnership in our students’ growth and learning. There are many opportunities to get involved and be a part of your child’s school experience.

Please take a look at the attached announcements for opportunities and important information. I encourage you to get involved.

In partnership,

Gloria

NEWS FROM THE DISTRICT OFFICE

Construction News

A summer of construction is coming to an end, and we are excited to welcome students and families back to school on Monday, Aug. 20. So much work has been done on our campus, and we are excited to have new facilities.

As with any construction project, there will be a few items that we'll be finishing up in the next few weeks. Thanks in advance for your patience as we finish up landscaping, painting touch-ups, cabinetry installation, and window coverings, to name a few.

We'll work hard to minimize any disruption to students and staff members. Thank you for your support!

If your 5th Grader is taking Art or if you are not part of the MVWSD please disregard the following information.

Dear 5th Grade Parents and Guardians: We are looking forward to your student’s participation in the 5th Grade Music Program. Please note that instrument distribution nights are coming up.

  • String instruments (including violins, violas, and cellos) will be distributed on Tuesday, August 21st, from 5:00 to 7:00 pm.
  • Brass and woodwind instruments (including saxophones, trombones, clarinets, flutes, and trumpets) will be distributed on Wednesday, August 22nd, from 5:00-7:00 pm.
  • Any remaining instruments (brass and strings) will be available on Monday, August 27th from 5:00-7:00 pm if you could not attend on the 21st or 22nd.

Welcome from MVEF and Aug. 30 Night at the Counter

Welcome back from the Mountain View Educational Foundation (MVEF)! MVEF is a non-profit that raises funds to provide a competitive, well-rounded education that would not be possible without this additional funding.  Thanks to tax-deductible donations from parents like you, MVEF funds programs like weekly art and music classes at every elementary school led by Community School of Music and Arts teachers, hands-on science field trips for every 4th, 5th and 6th grader, garden-based lessons led by Living Classroom, middle school athletics, instrument repair and purchase and more! We need your help to meet our goal to raise $750,000. Learn more at your school’s back to school night or donate today at mvef.org.  We have some great community events planned this fall, including next week’s giveback at The Counter! On Thursday the 30th, The Counter will be donating 15% of your bill to MVEF – just mention MVEF or show the attached flyer!
