Over the past nine years the CEL program has been a program that roughly 25% of the families at Monta Loma Elementary School have opted to participate in. It facilitated a feeling of community among those families and greatly enhanced the experience of the children in the CEL classes. To strengthen the community at Monta Loma Elementary and extend the benefits of parent, community and teacher collaboration, the CEL program is expanding to the entire school. Starting with the Fall 2009 school year, all families attending Monta Loma will be expected to volunteer and participate in the educational process. Come join us as we take the CEL program to the next level and build a truly innovative parent-participation program with a feeling of community that mirrors the tight-knit neighborhood where it is located.
