Core value of the month: Respect

PRINCIPAL’S MESSAGE

Dear Monta Loma Families,

Leopard Leaders and Core Value of the Month

Thank you for your continued partnership in our students’ growth and learning. At Monta Loma, developing character is a vital part of the work we do. We have a long tradition sharing our five core values to promote healthy choices and positive relationships among all the members of our community. Our core values of character are respect, responsibility, courage, compassion, and hard work.

We focus specifically on one core value per month to share our expectations and to recognize leaders on our campus who demonstrate strong character. Each month, two students per classroom are selected as Monta Loma Leopard Leaders. Leopard Leaders are recognized at a Leopard Launch once a month. Our first Leopard Leader recognition will be on September 24th.

For August and September our focus core value is respect. Respect can be shown by being considerate of others’ feelings, using good manners, dealing peacefully with disagreements, and honoring the work time of others. You can help promote the value of respect by talking about it in your family and recognizing your child or others when they show it.

Looking forward to seeing you at our the coffee on Friday.

Gloria

Welcome from MVEF and Aug. 30 Night at the Counter

Welcome back from the Mountain View Educational Foundation (MVEF)! MVEF is a non-profit that raises funds to provide a competitive, well-rounded education that would not be possible without this additional funding.  Thanks to tax-deductible donations from parents like you, MVEF funds programs like weekly art and music classes at every elementary school led by Community School of Music and Arts teachers, hands-on science field trips for every 4th, 5th and 6th grader, garden-based lessons led by Living Classroom, middle school athletics, instrument repair and purchase and more! We need your help to meet our goal to raise $750,000. Learn more at your school’s back to school night or donate today at mvef.org.  We have some great community events planned this fall, including next week’s giveback at The Counter! On Thursday the 30th, The Counter will be donating 15% of your bill to MVEF – just mention MVEF or show the attached flyer!
