Core value of the month: Courage

PRINCIPAL’S MESSAGE

Dear Monta Loma Families,

As 2018 comes to an end, I want to express my heartfelt thanks to all of you. It is a privilege to share in the many gifts you and your students bring to our community. Your support for community events, donations to charitable efforts, and passion for enriching the educational experience for our students make Monta Loma a truly exceptional school. The 1,286 items collected for our food drive is just one example of your compassion. Most of all, I am grateful for the curious, thoughtful, and creative students you send us every day. We learn from them as they learn from us.

Wishing you a peaceful and happy holiday break.

Gloria

 Nibble n Gobble

Making healthy eating simple & fun (For grades K - 5)

Think farm to table, tailored for kids! At these hands-on cooking workshops kids are encouraged to touch, smell, feel, explore, taste and play with food. They make simple and colorful dishes and through color, interesting plating and fun food-related activities they learn about making smart food choices. At the end of every class they sit down together to enjoy their creations. Research shows that if kids feel empowered around food, they are more likely to eat it. Repeated positive exposure away from mealtimes leads to fewer dinner-table battles, less waste and more enjoyable dining experiences for the whole family. Bonus - eager little helpers in the kitchen!

We will be cooking nut-free, vegetarian dishes made with fresh, seasonal & as far as possible, organic ingredients - easy enough for kids to replicate at home.

Kid-safe cooking equipment provided.

Thursdays: 12 :55 pm - 1:55 pm

Dates: 01/10, 01/17, 01/24, 01/31, 02/07, 02/14, 02/28, 03/07, 03/14 (9 sessions).
