School Site Council
Monta Loma's School Site Council (SSC) is composed of four parents, three teachers and the school principal. The SSC is responsible for site allocations to various intervention, enrichment and general education program expenditures for the school budget. It acts as the legislative arm of Monta Loma's administration. The site council works with the teaching staff and parents to create the Single Plan of Student Achievement, which describes the academic goals, how we intend to meet them and is used to construct a school budget for fiscal matters which require site-based decisions.

Many of the issues traditionally before the School Site Council will be discussed by the School Advisory Board (which includes the School Site Council starting in 2009/2010), but the decisions will be voted on by just the School Site Council. Thus the School Site Council benefits from broader discussion and input of ideas as well as the ability to see all decisions in the broader picture of the school-wide CEL program.
